How It Works
(for Sporting Goods & Active Lifestyle)

Step 1
Connect your store(s)
Use our ready-made connectors or API to sync orders, inventory and returns with our WMS—no spreadsheets required. We support single-brand and multi-brand sporting goods setups across Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, marketplaces and custom stores, with clean mapping for sizes, colors, bundles, sets and B2B orders.
Step 2
Inbound & QA
We receive pallets, cartons or containers, verify quantities, scan barcodes and apply sporting-goods-specific QC: checking packaging, protective materials, visible damage, completeness of sets (e.g. rackets, poles, weights, accessories) and labeling. Optional relabeling, language labels or channel-specific barcodes can be added to support EU, French and retailer requirements.
Step 3
Storage & visibility
Stock is stored in appropriate zones (pallet racks, shelves, bins, long-item locations) based on dimensions, weight, rotation and fragility—separating fitness gear, team-sport equipment, outdoor products, balls, accessories and smaller items where needed. Through our WMS you get real-time inventory by SKU, size, color, set, season or channel, plus reporting for replenishment and purchasing.

Step 4
Pick, Pack, Present
Orders are picked according to your SOPs and channel rules. We handle long items (sticks, bats, poles), heavy products (weights, kettlebells), ball sports gear and accessories with suitable packaging and fillers, and can include branded inner materials, size guides, training cards and promo inserts. Same-day dispatch is available on eligible orders from our French and EU hubs.

Step 5
Shipping across the EU
We use optimized carrier services from our FR/DE/PL hubs to cover France and the wider EU. You can define rules for standard parcels, heavy parcels, long parcels and multi-parcel orders, choose between speed-focused or cost-efficient services, and offer home delivery or pickup-point options—balancing freight costs and delivery promises for both casual consumers and serious athletes.
Step 6
Returns that protect value
We process returns according to your playbook, with dedicated flows for used, tried-on or lightly used sporting goods. Items are inspected and graded; where possible we clean, re-pack and rebox products for resale or outlet flows. Damaged or heavily used items can be routed to secondary channels, demo stock or recycling. Reporting shows recovery and write-off by category, season and channel.

Why Sporting Goods Brands Choose FLEX.

Category-aware operations
We handle fitness equipment, team-sport gear, outdoor products, balls, protective gear and accessories with processes tuned for size, shape, weight, seasonality and presentation. From single SKUs to multi-piece sets, our SOPs are designed for safe, consistent handling at scale.

Customer experience for athletes & enthusiasts
Sporting goods are tied to performance and passion. We focus on accurate picking, robust packaging and clear tracking so customers receive the right gear in good condition and on time. We work with you to define packaging and presentation standards that reflect your brand and price point.

Returns that don’t kill margin
Returns can be frequent in sports (wrong size, feel, or spec). We inspect, grade and route returned items in line with your strategy—recovering stock when possible, using outlet or secondary channels where appropriate and recycling what cannot be saved—so margin impact is visible and controlled.

Value-added presentation (where it belongs)
For inner packaging, kits and seasonal boxes, we can assemble curated experiences with training plans, sizing tips, care instructions and cross-sell suggestions—while keeping outer packaging carrier-compliant and strong enough for heavier or awkwardly shaped products.

Strategic EU footprint
Warehouses in France, Germany and Poland provide lower shipping costs and faster delivery across key EU sporting goods markets. You can stage inventory close to French and European customers while working with a single e-commerce 3PL partner.

Same-day dispatch + clear SLAs
We combine fast cut-offs with clear SLAs on receiving, picking, packing and shipping. You know what you can promise customers and marketplaces, and you get the data to monitor performance as your sporting goods brand grows.
Compliance & Documentation
Security & Access Controls
We keep your sporting goods shipments compliant and audit-friendly.
Following retailer and marketplace routing guides for labeling, carton sizes and delivery
GS1 barcodes and clean SKU/variant data to avoid confusion at carriers and customs
Correct HS codes, materials and values on commercial invoices for non-EU shipments
Packing lists and ASN data in required formats for B2B and platform partners
Returns and refurbishment paperwork with scannable IDs for controlled check-in
What we’ll need from you to set this up:
A clear SKU map (including dimensions, weights, materials, sets and seasonal categories), barcode standards, marketplace and retailer guides, plus your rules for grading, outlet flows and recycling. We implement, test on sample orders, then lock the rules before going fully live.
Layered physical, operational and digital protection for your inventory.
Restricted facility access and CCTV in key storage and packing zones
Cycle counts and investigations to maintain stock integrity and prevent shrinkage
Role-based WMS permissions and 2FA on admin accounts
Encryption in transit; secured label and document generation
Photo/weight/scan logs on outbound to help resolve disputes or damage claims
Assurance you can show your team:
We provide written SOPs for pick/pack, returns, refurbishment and access control specific to your category, plus example logs and screenshots of audit trails during onboarding. That way, your operations, merchandising and finance teams can sign off with confidence.
